Roller Landing Board
A galvanized fitting with rollers (wheels) installed where the gangway meets the dock or shore attachment. Its purpose is to allow the gangway to roll when the water level or dock position changes, instead of getting stuck or pressing against the structure. When is a roll fitting for a gangway needed? Roll fittings are generally always needed when any of the following conditions exist and the dock is fixed: Varying water levels For example, in lakes with regulated levels, rivers, or locations with clear seasonal variations. When the dock moves up and down, the gangway must be able to follow. Floating docks: Since floating docks always move with the water level, roll fittings are required so the gangway does not jam or load the attachment incorrectly.
